Collier was selected in the draft this year! He was taken first round by the Mets...the Hikes Point Mets, that is. Although he's only four, there are times we have been so proud of him it's almost embarrassing. For example, first game...he was playing pitcher and caught a line drive! His coach said afterwards that he didn't expect to see an out made all year, let alone the first game...yeah, that's our boy! Here's a look at the line up...
His favorite part of the game is batting. He's so anxious when he gets to the plate, that the coach always has to hold his bat while putting the ball on the Tee to avoid getting hit! He's quite the little superstar in this area too...when he gets up to bat, all the coaches yell, "Back up...good hitter!" Yeah, that's our boy! See what I mean? If we're this proud at age 4, how bad is it going to get?
Base running is another story...he often has to be directed by the coaches on where to run next...after first base, he typically runs to the right field foul pole instead of second base...oh well, he can't excel at EVERYTHING!
Collier poses with his biggest fan (other than Mommy and Daddy, of course)!
Go Collier!!! Are you going to buy a private jet too when you are a pro? And fly us in every weekend for the games?! I'll take you to DQ!
We hope to see one of your games and otherwise make your mom and dad film it so we can watch them in june.
