I meant to post more from my journal, but we received an email this week that was so touching. I wanted to share it because it shows God's hand in all of this...
It is from Chris Mooney, a missionary we worked with all week from Bethel Ministries. He is referring to a woman and her 5 young children who we met while in Guatemala and dropped off food and clothing to her and her family...it is her side of the story...
"The morning that they were going to
visit this family the mother had been praying about what to do because
she had lost her job and only had 300Q (about $37 American dollars) to her name. Her plight was
this - the school was asking for money and she also had no food in the
house and as she sat there praying to God what do I do...Do I buy food and
have my child go to school with no money or do I send her with the
money and have no food? Just then there was a knock on the door and when she
opened it there was all those gringos (Americans) with food and on top of that they
had brought clothing too and in two days her daughter was going to be
celebrating her birthday...God had provided all!! All I can say is way to go God!! Just makes you want to love him even more!"
Wow! I've said it so many times, and I can never say it enough...GOD IS SO GOOD!!! This woman felt so amazed by God looking out for her, but had no idea how much she truly blessed our lives! We learned so much about trusting God in Guatemala...really trusting him!
