During the freeze out of 2009, we headed to my sister Tammy's house to avoid the power outage at ours. The boys were thrilled to hang out with cousin Austin all weekend and I got in some much needed QT with my sister (who is presently in labor, btw! More about that later!) In the back of their neighborhood is the ultimate playground for any little boy...the creek! I pulled my hair in a pony tail, put on some old clothes, pulled on my rubber boots and put away my extreme girly nature so I could display my best effort of hanging tough and getting dirty with those boys! The boys had a blast, I on the other hand, couldn't wait to get back for a shower! When we were headed back up to the house Collier said, "Mommy, that was the most fun ever!" To which Austin replied, "Yeah, it was the bestest day of my life." So, I guess I did alright...mission accomplished!
The highlight of the day...they found two dead "crawdales" as Collier likes to call them. They brought them back to the house and stored them in plastic cups in the clubhouse...they packed them around all day...true story. Who knew dead stuff could be so much fun? Shooooooooo weeeeeeeeeeeeee! I'm pretty sure God was trying to show off his humor when he gave me two boys! It's going to be a very dirty next 18 years or so...but oh, the fun we'll have...and lots of showers too!!!
Sent the crash cart to Murray!!!!!Gram may have gotten used to the "birds" thing, but I am not sure she can handle UT orange!!!!
I have always loved playing in the mud, one of the reasons why I played goalie for so long. I cannot wait for Thom to be old enough to go play in the mud.
But maybe we can plan some mud time while we come to KY this spring.

Way to go, Kim! Your boys will always remember the times you "got dirty" to help them have fun! I have great memories of hatching a variety of critters on our mantle; having a spider nursery in our bushes which I was told NOT to knock down; and just wait until one of the boys wants you to be the "catcher" while he practices his curve ball! Oh, the fun you have ahead!!! Enjoy it...it goes by really fast!

That's awesome, Kim! I have to say, of all the things I worried about you dressing Collier in - I never thought a Tennesee shirt would be it! What are you doing to that poor child!?
