Greetings from the office!
I don't know that I've ever been so excited and happy to be at work!!! There are lights here (that work!) a computer, a microwave, a refrigerator, a toaster oven, a coffee machine...I could go on about all the luxuries in this glorious space!!!
On Sunday, we lost power around 1:30 PM at our house, when a crazy windstorm (aka: Ike) blew in with winds at 75 MPH. To say the least, our street looks like a few tornadoes whipped through it...there are huge trees down everywhere, parts of the neighborhood are blocked off and there are power lines down all over town. On Sunday, there were 301,000 people without power in the 'ville. As of today, there are still 150,000 without, including us...tears...more tears...sobbing...they are saying it could take 10-14 days...more sobbing...
Anyone who knows me, knows I'm not a camper and I would much rather be doing ANYTHING other than "roughin it." The boys, on the other hand, have barely noticed. We've kept them outside until dark, playing, riding bikes, etc. - they are pretty much clueless as to what's going on...having a big time! Then there's me...It's day 4 - I have officially hit the miserable point. I want lights, a home cooked meal and a hair dryer...and hey, a few minutes of TV wouldn't be too bad either. Is that too much for a gal to ask? Oh, the things we take for granted!!!
So that's the update on the Crouches...we're fine, just a little wrinkled with greasy hair, hopefully we'll have power soon and I'll post some pics for ya!
Oh my goodness! You poor thing. I can't imagine. Hang in there. You could always camp out in the office. haha

I feel for you guys! It was windy here, but we did not get it nearly as bad as you all, or western kentucky. I hope you guys are hainging in, and I hate so bad that I missed you all this weekend. I'm sure you had a terrific time.

Just think what great stories you will have to tell..."Back in the summer of 2008 when Ike came through Louisville.....". Just call Frank Spickler...I'm sure he'll send a crew to Radiance Rd!
Hang in there. If you want to come to Murray this weekend I'll fix you a home-cooked meal and I'll even let you use my hairdryer!

I can't imagine going that long without power! As much as Caleb loves playing outside, he also loves his Spongebob and would make everyone miserable if he missed a day watching it! Hope you all get power back TODAY!!

Ah . . . takes me back to good 'ol Hurricane Elvis! We had no power for eight days. Of course, we also didn't have kids! Hang in there, and know you're welcome in Memphis if you want to just hit the road!
